Do your kids/skids have a bad memory?
My sd is 6 and she talks on the phone to dh atleast once a week (would be more if bm would let him! ) when he doesnt see her. Im away from him right now (been three weeks so far just until my school semester is over!) and I've talked to sd on the phone three times on his weekends with her and every time i ask her a question just about what she has done or what she has eaten she has to ask dh what she did/ate. I noticed that she had to do that with dh when bm called when we had sd for a week at the end of may. And it was stuff we just did too, maybe like 3 hours before bm called. I dont think its because she is shy on the phone or anything, maybe its because she is not used to questions or because she is so young she just doesnt think about it? Not sure what it is.
But i just got off the phone and sd was saying in the background (dh had me on speaker phone) I love you! and she was chanting "I want to see (my name)" over and over it was cute

I think at such a young age
I think at such a young age it is probably normal. I think kids get nervous on the phone and sort of have a "deer in the headlights" reaction that makes them totally blank on things. Now, as she gets older she may very well develop "selective" memory...I know that's what happened with my SD. She went from telephone nerves to only being able to remember the things that she feels are important, and everything else goes out the window.
My SS7 has a really bad phone
My SS7 has a really bad phone memory. He lives with us- DH is the custodial parent. And I can tell him to call his cousin and ask if she wants to have a sleepover, and he will call her two seconds later and forget what he was calling her for. Makes me laugh.
