Recap: in January BM messaged us that she was going to have SD fulltime and we have no say. Immediately followed by "I'm sure you've already arranged to claim her on taxes for this year, but I want to every year after this." 

Today she messaged to just check if we were claiming her this year before she filed. Hahaha, did she really think we would let her just to be nice after all of this?

These BMs are ever hopeful.

I don't remember all your background.  Does your DH not have a court order?  How is it that BM can just decide that she's going to keep SD full time and there's nothing he can do, and she's going to claim SD on the taxes every year?

He doesn't have a court order. BM begged and cried to stay out of court. It was 50/50 for 5 years and most of the time BM tried to get rid of her as much as possible. Then all of a sudden she randomly messaged and said she was going to have her fulltime unless DH went to therapy. It seems like she's already regretting that, but too bad.

Then you should rotate every other year (form 8332 in the U.S.)

She hasn't asked for child support yet, just to claim her on taxes. But if she does we will definitely be going back to claiming her every other year
