Another Dr. Visit
DH just informed me that he will be getting SD late for her visit tonight because BM is taking her to the dr for another spider bite. I just found this amusing. First of all I didn't even know about the first spider bite. DH said the first time she had a spider bite it looked like she got punched in the face. I honestly don't recall ever hearing about this 1st spider bite and I know I didn't see SD with a swollen face any time recently. Knowing SD and her constant need for attention I am sure she would have made a big deal out of it and I would have noticed her face if it was that bad. We get her every week. If it truly caused that severe of a reaction I would understand but I feel like this is another exaggerated injury on BM/SD's side. I swear BM will take that poor girl to the dr for anything. I would completely understand if it was like a bite from a tarantula or something but those aren't common spiders for our region. Am I crazy for thinking this is a bit ridiculous?!?! To me it is like taking a kid to the dr for a mosquito bite.

Is your DH saying it looked
Is your DH saying it looked like she got punched in the face after the first spider bite because he SAW it or because BM or SD told him about it? If he actually saw it and it looked that way, I would most certainly take her to the doctor for a second spider bite. Otherwise, with BM's history of running to the doctor/hospital, not so much.
ndc, I am guessing that he is
ndc, I am guessing that he is going off of what BM and SD told him. I could be wrong. He just sent me a text about it. When I questioned it being another bite and going to the dr for it he spewed out that additional information. I agree. If she had that bad of a reaction definitely worthy of a dr visit. However, I'm having a hard time buying it based on their history of over exaggerating injuries/etc. Plus, again guessing, but if she had that reaction before I would have noticed because she is constantly in your face on visits. You can't not notice her. That would also be a major attention grabber and something she would definitely brag about.
I likely won't see her tonight b/c I'll be taking my son to dance while she is visiting. If I do though I will update.
Are we sure
That the BM isn't actually punching SD in the face to make it look worse than it actually is? Munchausen's is strange that way.
thinkthrice, with these 2 and
thinkthrice, with these 2 and their flair for dramatics and manipulation I wouldn't be surprised if it was a BM or self induced punch to the face. That was the "first" bite that I never heard of until today. Not sure where this 2nd bite is....
SD9 had a spider bite a few
SD9 had a spider bite a few months ago (it looked like a mosquito bite, I get them too occasionally), and I heard Crazy on the phone with SD saying, Well you got a spider bite, that's not ok, blah blah blah, making it a big deal and talking trash about us like we locked her in a cage with a Black Widow or something. I'm actually surprised she didn't take her to the Dr. Everything has to be a big deal.
Oh, you know it would be even
Oh, you know it would be even worse if it happened at my home! OMG, yes, everything is overly significant or overly dramatized. At this point I just find it comical. Usually DH is with me on it being ridiculous. We are fighting today though so he has to revert back to being over protective and defensive! LOL
Let me guess
SD is on DH's insurance right? In my case it was funny how fast the drama subsided when the skids were put on the girhppos insurance and she had to pay the co-pay
Surprisingly she is on BM's
Surprisingly she is on BM's insurance. That is why I find it a bit comical how often she takes her. BM works for a school so I think she has good insurance that covers most of the expenses....otherwise we would be getting bills for co-pays etc for our 16%. Since we just got married I can add SD to my insurance. I'm still debating on whether or not that is a good idea. It would be secondary to BMs. I have decent insurance through the federal employee health benefit plan so it isn't one of those high deductable crap plans at least.
Its probably a zit.
Its probably a zit.
LMFAO, you are probably
LMFAO, you are probably correct! She is almost 12! OMG, that would be so hilarious! I almost hope it is a zit now and I can't wait to see how they make a zit into something even bigger!
IF indeed it is a spider
IF indeed it is a spider bite, WOW that can be very serious.
Hopefully it is ruled out.
Goodluck, yes, if it is
Goodluck, yes, if it is indeed a spider bite from a spider like a brown recluse (not sure how to spell that) or another poisonous spider that is true. Given SD and BM's history on embellishing injuries I am pretty sure GrabItandGO is probably right....it is a zit! LOL
I myself have had spider bites. They are slightly painful and there is a little bit of swelling but I would never rush off to the dr for it unless it was ooozing pus or I had a fever or some other symptom along with it.
Toxic Feral Eldest and her "illnesses"
Well, sit back, let me tell you a tale.
Toxic Feral Eldest - before I even met her, I would hear about her trips to Drs and Emergency rooms.
Then, I met her and got to hear more about her "illnesses", that just HAPPENED to be identical to Toxic Trolls, (how odd!). She had polyps, and anxiety, and asthma (needed an inhaler), and headaches, and the list goes on.
One hot, dry summer day, DH asks her to please mow the lawn. She does. No sign of asthma!
She took a pain pill given to her by a cousin for menstral cramps, and got sick. Took a Xanax given to her by her mother, and her mother took her to e-room where the kind Drs gave Toxic Troll a stern talking to about giving a 16-year old medications that she herself was presribed. Now supposedly momma is giving her pott brownies for her anxiety. No more Xanax thank goodness.
This week, Munchkin as missed 2 days of school. And her moher kept her home. For a headache. I asked munchkin thats how I know.
I told DH that I hope this isnt the start of another 'medical minefield', because she isnt on his insurance, but per the custody order, he has to pay medical expenses. Im only concerned because typically munchkin loves school, and misses her friends during the weekends, so I wonder if there is something else going on.
Hope your SD is going to live through all this! These women who love drama by proxy are just so weird. But you know what I have come to the conclusion that anyone so broken that the guy cannot stay with them even with children involved, or anyone that broken that they cannot stay in a marriage with children -well do we really expect normal behavior from them? LOL.
Yeah - medical drama is always the best - because you cannot see it, you need a "specialist" and dadee is always either guilted or forced to feed into the "medical machine", at the whims of toxic exes. Im feeling bittter toay because I am so scared that munchkin is going to follow in Toxic Troll and Toxic Ferals footsteps. Meh.
Clove, I think I remember you
Clove, I think I remember you telling me before that you have this same issue. It is truly disturbing. It is never ending. OMG, my SD has "sports induced asthma" which she developed when she first started cheer and they made her run. SD hates running. Now she has an inhaler she uses before bed (and has to be reminded to use). It is crazy. I have seen her play on the trampoline for hours or ride her bike all around and never once have I seen her struggle with breathing....only when she is with BM and usually only at a cheer event. Last attack was when the cheer coaches were being so overly mean with her and expecting her to know her moves! Gasp! Oh and she had anxiety for a long time too. They gave her some sort of antacid for that. She was "allergic" to milk for a long time too until I told her she couldn't have ice cream at my house if she was allergic to milk b/c that is the main ingredient!
I feel like it is a weird control mechanism and definitely used to guilt daddeeee. If he doesn't believe in her "hidden/undetectable" injuries he is definitely berated for it! It is truly just CRAZY!!!!!
Seems like its
Very, Very unsafe at BM. She needs some company to come into her home to attract the big bad spider, and or spiders. SD should not be living in such an unsafe place.
Yep, we should definitely
Yep, we should definitely keep SD from BM's home now and it is justifiable. This is for her own safety. This is the 2nd bite. She needs to have her whole house debugged and cleaned before we can allow precious back there with all the big bad spiders!
I feel so sorry for your SD's
I feel so sorry for your SD's first ex husband.
That girl is going to be a PITA for the rest of her life
If she can even find someone
If she can even find someone to marry her! She will be a PITA for ever and super high maintenance.
"SD's first ex husband" LOL
