So I need advice or opinions. My wife has a toddler. She is two. I am the SF.(Long Story and unrelated to this post).
My SD visits her BF every other weekend. When she returns from those visits her behavior is awful. Hitting, Screaming, and just mean to her mother. Ignoring her mother sometimes or just screaming for her BF. We have had her since she was born and these visits have been going on for maybe 8 months.and the behavior follows almost every visit especially lately. Now i can handle a child being pissy but it really upsets my wife and makes her feel like her daughter doesnt want her or the BF is trying to manipulate my SD. Please Help?

You say this behavior occurs whenever she comes home from seeing her father.

I'm no psychologist, but I have to wonder if this child is being abused by her father.

This article mentions signs of sexual abuse in children. There may be another form of abuse going on over at her father's. I don't know. But you should definitely look at this site, and google "signs of emotional and/or physical abuse in toddlers:"

You might want to consider having your wife call SD's pediatrician and ask them for the names of some good child therapists in your area, because SD is having such problems. Something is going on and you and your wife need to get to the bottom of it.

Well something is definately not right but maybe its because there are no rules at his house? she gets whatever she wants? we had problems with the step kids when they came to us for the week because they were naughty and badly behaved so child services said rather than have them sunday to sunday we should have them friday to friday so they have the weekend to settle down. Their mother has bi-polar disorder and seems to go out all the time but since she has had this new boyfriend they have been better because he seems to look after them well. So maybe its just different rules? or lack thereof?

Also I have a 2 1/2 year old and she started hitting me a while back about going to bed but then once we had started making a house (putting a blanket over her bed) then she stopped but everyone says its a terrible two's phase.

Welcome whitecopter!

I don't have any experience with toddlers, especially toddler skids (mine were 9 & 6 when I met my boyfriend 6 yrs ago), so I don't have any constructive advice for you (sorry).

I just wanted to let you know that you've come to the right place, though. There are many people on this site that have been in your shoes - and they're extremely supportive & give amazing advice. I just wanted to say "welcome" and that we're glad you're here. I hope ST helps you as much as it has helped me over the past few months.

Good luck!!
