After reading some other Blogs
Someday's I get down about being a stepmom and dealing with all the craziness from BM. However, today I read a few other blogs on here and I found out I am so blessed to have my DH. He is on my side about things usually. He doesn't like BM and only talks to her when he has to with that it is almost always by email. When BM wants something then DH discusses it with me and we usually have the same opinion. I am just very happy that he is my partner. If SS is disrespectful DH will say "that is my wife and you will treat her with respect in our home"
Another thing I learned is my SS and I have a great relationship. I read a blog about how much someone hates their Skids and I felt sad for everyone involved. I can't imagine living like that. SS has been difficult lately but I am blessed with a great SS. Another thing that I think I got lucky with was meeting my SS when he was very young and he has never known his parents to be together. He has always wanted a relationship with me as well as my family.
If I met someone dating a man with kids I would tell them "Yes it can be very hard. BM will be crazy no matter what happens. But sometimes your relationship with your Skids could be really special and close. As well as, if your spouse and you can work together you can truly create a blended family."

No two people are really
No two people are really alike. Not every BM is a worthless asshole. Not all fathers are ball-less jerks. Not all skids are manipulative leaches.
Sometimes (not sure how often or not) the people involved are decent human beings who want to do the right thing and it all works out to be okay.
But most of us are here because of a breakdown in one or more of the individuals. My SS30 is a violent alcoholic. That will not change even if DH, BM and I are the most perfect individuals ever.
