Priorities!
I really wish I could understand how the brains of some of these parents (significant others) work!
All the issues that we have with SD15's schedule, drama at school, etc., and whenever I suggest to DH that he needs to get to call the school/teacher or email them to get to the bottom of things, I hear excuses like, "I don't have time to do that" or "I will" and it is never done.
When DH says that SD15 needs a dental appointment, I tell him to call and make one. I get excuses that he doesn't have time to make the appointment or take her to the appointment.
However, DH can't watch a YouTube on his tablet last night, and he gets all up in arms about our internet service, and takes it upon himself to call them and complain, etc. TODAY!
So, you have time, when it really affects you directly, you suddenly have time? When it comes to being a parent, you don't? PRIORITIES! LEARN YOUR PRIORITIES!
On a positive note, I was right! The reason I didn't hear anything further about color guard tryouts is because SD15 didn't make it! That also explains why SD15 has gotten in trouble again, why this week she has gone back into another binge phase, etc. DH never catches on to these things. The "I didn't feel well" on Friday? I can PROMISE you now that simply was a case of depression because she didn't get what she wanted (they probably announced the Wednesday before DH let her take a day off of school to hang out with the boyfriend's family because of his uncle's funeral, or someone texted her the results while she was out). I KNEW something seemed over-dramatic Friday when she said she "didn't feel well" and with how she acted the rest of the day. The same girl got captain, and a girl who will be a senior next year got co-captain. Wonder how long before SD15 quits guard again?
