the new place

so, we moved this past weekend.

its huge, and if im on one floor and fiance is on the other floor you cant hear each other or TV. this gives me hope that i wont have to hear SD.

she will be there tonight till 740 (has to have her to dropoff point for 8). i want to go home and enjoy my place but even tho i have "soundproofing" now i also still really dont want to see her.

fiance made a big deal about setting up space for her in the den to do homework and put a second TV in there for non-homework times so help the situation. he's promised me he will make her use that room, leaving my kitchen/living area skid free. i am terrified he will again disappoint me and not follow through on this and that ill go home and find her flopped on my couch watching my tv. i can still go upstairs to be away from her so i have that out i just dont want the disappointment.

im exhausted and its crappy weather today so walking/biking after work to avoid home isnt an option. i do need to hit a few stores so that IS an option.

planning to arrive home around 630. i hate the pit in my stomach.

i have high hopes for this new place in terms of my ability to deal with SD... i need it and we as a couple need it.

PS: saw that movie "Blended" over the weekend. BradyBunch NONSENSE! But kinda funny.

Here's the thing. If she is only VISITING, then her dad needs to VISIT with her, not just plant her in front of a TV. Play board games, take her fishing, play ball.

I am sick and tired of these kids coming over and the TV is their custody time. Basically "drunk sitting for BM". If I was a kid, I would hate my life too, if all my dad did is pick me up and plant me in front of the TV.

I agree. My SD plays so much iPad at our house while my husband watches TV. I get that he works hard all week and wants to relax, but maybe SD shouldn't come if he's not going to spend quality time with her. Sit on your ass NEXT weekend, husband, when she isn't here.

He kept his word...im shocked. But TV is on during homework, he is in his ipad, and she has her phone and her ipad on the desk. Idiots! But they are out of my hair so thats all i care.

Meh, if he doesn't care his kid 1/2 does her homework because she's actually watching tv, so what. She's tucked into her own little space outta sight and she's no longer under your feet and hogging your tv. All's good.

Go in your livingroom, toss yourself down own your sofa and channel surf. If she comes out and sits in your spaces, shoo her back to her dungeon, uh, I mean her own little space Daddy set up for her to use.

Congrats on the new BIG home! After my two SDs moved into our townhouse with us last year, we knew we had to move. We had 4 dogs with the addition of SDog. We got a bigger place after just a few months. Then we got another dog lol.
