Is your vehicle big enough for everyone to ride together?
As we are TTC for another..
(would be our #2, but #3 counting SD....)
I've been stressing about, 1-do we need a bigger house (although SD doesn't come over right now...)
and 2- do we need a bigger vehicle? (although it is somewhat rare for all of us to go when DH sees SD..)
We have the means to tote 3 kids right now, but not only do I not view it as comfortable.. the baby and BS3 will be in carseats, SD6 is in a booster. Plus, as much as I didn't want SD near BS, when he was younger, he was in the middle seat and her on the side.. I REALLY don't want her near a new baby or dear jesus, sandwiched between my kids.. can we spell disaster?
But really, can I justify needing a vehicle with a 3rd row seat for those off chances that SD is with us?
Just curious what everyone drives, and can your kids and skids even fit in the vehicle together?
If your car is paid off and
If your car is paid off and you do not have to have them all in the car at the same time more than twice a year it is cheaper to rent a van when you need to.
Chrysler Aspen. Seats 8. Only
Chrysler Aspen. Seats 8. Only have BS16 at the house now but it sure comes in handy when I have to cart his 6 football player friends to practice.
I like having the space.
How close is SD to 7? I say
How close is SD to 7? I say that because if 7 is right around the corner and you are still TCC, I wouldn't worry about that 3rd row seat for just a couple of months until SD is 8. You can also always go with a slim car seat for your soon to be 2 bios to help with space. I found the one below for my bff who has twins plus one and only a 5 seater car.

I have a Camry, and DH has a Dodge 1500. We have 3 combined kids and are the custodial parents of all. My kids are 8,8, and 6- so only one booster. When we go out all 5 of us we take the truck just because there is more room, but each of our vehicles will seat all of us.
She just turned 6, but
She just turned 6, but probably over the weight of needing a booster if you want to get technical.. I guess its more about not squashing them all together, she cant handle being 1 seat over from BS, let alone next to a baby!
Ahhh... this is more about
Ahhh... this is more about your sanity listening to her wine every time you get in the car. For the sake of sanity, I might get a bigger car! LOL
Or all the more reason NOT
Or all the more reason NOT to.. DH can do all the driving (1hr+ each way) ALONE. lol
Bahaha! Very true!

I hope I never am forced into
I hope I never am forced into a mini-van, Im much more of a SUV driver.. so I've been considering a Tahoe.. how many kids/skids do you have?
Acadia is another option I've
Acadia is another option I've looked into as well, but lord they are expensive! I think the model began in 2008? So its hard to get one that is really 'used'. I don't want anything with a bench seat 2nd row, as I don't want to have to move seats for her to get in, but I also don't want to give up the trunk space I currently have in my suv to have that 3rd row available (so it needs to be able to fold up to nothing.
I've seen how much space there is when the 3rd row in acadia is being used.. its practically nothing!
Since SS was an only child in
Since SS was an only child in our home we never had a problem. Regardless of what we were driving there was room for all three of us. When I got a sports car the kid had to cram in to the joke of a back seat. But, he could fit if he got creative.
We have usually had a truck or SUV and a car. The trucks were 4door.
As another person said
As another person said "rent". You can pay $30 a day to rent a 3 row vehicle or make payments on a $40,000 replacement vehicle. Or Daddy can rent a economy car and take his kid wherever he needs to go while you use your present car to do what you need to do.
Enterprise will even come and pick you up and take you home.
Really SD is the only reason
Really SD is the only reason we have a economical 4cylinder car. I prefer my suv to drive to work and its much easier to get a toddler in/out of. Work and daycare are close by so I'm not using an insane amount of gas. I insisted that we keep the car when I discovered I preferred the suv, just so he wouldnt be wasting so much gas driving to/from SD.
Honda pilot... had for 5
Honda pilot... had for 5 years and it was great when we had all the kids, but with one left ready to get rid of it. Great gas mileage and the third row was awesome.... love Hondas.
