SD is a typical preeteen girl, or isnt she?..please help!
i keep hearing that preeteens and teen girls are just crazy and that they are generally a pain in the ass. bio or step.
im starting to believe this is right.
question for you (mom or step mom of preeteen girl 12 years old to be exact):
does your girl hide stuff from you A LOT? like eating in bed, staying up until late, and then denying it?
does she steal things from her stepbrother and hide the stuff carefully in her room? (until i find it:))
does she lie a lot? all kinds of lies big an small
does she know the meaning o the word sorry?
do a lot of stuff show up "broken"? as in breaking things in anger?
does she use bad lenguage?
spend lots of time in her room? like 5-6 hours.
visits the bathroom for 1/2 hour at the time?
if pushed a little, becomes verbally agressive?
does she steal change here and there?
is she entitled and full of it?
if you are a SM: does she hate you and blame you for everythig nand BM is perfect?
if you are a SM: is she in between you and your DH a lot?
do you feel like she wants to break your relationship?
is this normal? hormonal?
She sounds just like my
She sounds just like my boyfriends daughter - she is nearly 11!!
Hey give me back my step
Hey give me back my step daughter.. }:)
I woke up one morning to find a trail of shredded cheese from the fridge of course all the way into the bathroom. Had her clean it up & talked about it. We explained that it is okay to grab a midnight snack but shredded cheese is for meals & block cheese with meat & crackers would be a healthy choice. And to eat it in the kitchen. We brought her to her BM's come Sunday night & I cleaned the bathroom as usual after they leave. Found more shredded cheese from that same night she trailed it back there on the toilet brush scrubber. I was afraid to want to know what she did so I threw the brush away & bought another one but never asked.
Teenage girls are becoming worse by the generation I think.
My SD claims to dislike both of her parents. Her & I now get along pretty good but I won't accept anything less.
The big one that gets under my skin, is that she acts like a victim if you have punished her (like a simple sweep your shredded cheese mess up & vacuum the carpet where your cheese trail mess is) yet if she gets angry with another, she will swear, push, & has even tried to kill 2 people.
I think we all should get our rights back on disciplining our kids the way we see fit. I think schools are messing up our kids as well as parents. Schools are teaching them about their rights but not teaching them about their responsibilities that comes with having rights. Parents need to spend more time teaching or not have kids.
By the time step parents enter the picture, its been painted already! I just work on one issue at a time with my Skids.
My BD now 15 didn't do most
My BD now 15 didn't do most of the stuff you listed except for a few (some of them biggies):
Crappy, entitled attitude- check
Sloppy snacking- check
Hating me at times like I ruined her life- check
Marathon showers- check
Inability to say sorry- check
So some of it isn't just step stuff. Some of it is pre-teen crap. Not sure how you would spot the difference for sure. Good news is somewhere into age 14 my daughter became likable again.
