Well, we knew it wouldn't take my SD and her new husband long to cash the check my DH gave them for their wedding on Sept. 4. It has been cashed ASAP, and no doubt they are using it for something stupid and frivolous. Probably partying.(roll-eyes).

Now, we are taking bets on IF they ever send us a thankyou note or call to thank my DH for the money. Anyone want to place a cyber-pretend bet? No money will be given, but you will have the knowledge that you are wise and insightful. Dirol

At least now we don't have to worry about it being lost or us having to pay to cancel the check. Wink I kind of wish someone who really needed the money and would put it to good use HAD taken it at the wedding. The gifts were not being supervised well at all - or in a safe place. At least someone who appreciated it would have put it to GOOD use!

So, anyone up for placing a bet?

What is up with giving that much money to your kids anyway?? seriously there is NO way we will be giving that much money to any of our kids. Getting married or not they are adults and can pay for it themselves! Helping with a few things here and there sure but thousands?? NO!

I bet there will be NO thanks you!

My OSD took his 1k gift (with a NO THANK YOU) and he gave her a vehicle as part of his contribution (worth about 1.5k) cause she and her Fiance' totaled theirs, and so he gave her a choice, he could sell it and give her the cash, or take the car as part of his wedding contribution.

You know what the snotty little bitch said later? "That truck was owed to me!!" (In other words, "It's NOT PART of MY WEDDING $$$ you OWE ME!!!" *TANTRUM* *TANTRUM* *TANTRUM*

AND........he didn't get invited to the wedding either.

(And really, on his income, this was about as much as he could afford out of pocket without dipping into his 401k) ---AND SHE KNOWS HOW MUCH HE MAKES.

She was just LIVID because I wrote her a note explaining all our new house and stuff is MY INCOME, and basically, since she's such a brat to me, I'm not contributing a dime to her day--it's now up to dear daddy and dear mommy. My letter started emails and phone calls swirling, and I've been banned from the BIL/SIL get togethers permanently.

God, I fucking HATE stepkids! My ss23 is NO GOD DAMN better! Mine, mine, mine! Wah, wah, wah! He acts like he's 5.
