DH + SD = hubby wife relationship. DH + me = daddy daughter relationship
Anyone else feel this way? Ever feel SD's are elevated high up, above wifey status? I do feel that way more then I care to admit, and yesterday was just another example.
A while back, when my son got license at 18,DH informed me that son was not to drive our vehicles, just his because he was not on our policy. Fine, I aligned with him. A week ago Sd24 comes home from out state. No car, her hubby is still in military but out in August. She is low on cash and flew home. Wants to borrow extra car so what does DH do? Offers her our newer car so her and GB have AC. Not to be totally heartless but he did take car borrowing to a whole new level for princess. On top of this, I was w/o AC all of my sons life until this last truck, which AC died on me, DH never found time to fix it, finally my son and BIL fixed it. WTF.
Last place again....
The double standard is so
The double standard is so annoying. Does your DH even see the hypocrisy in what he did?
I would point this out to him now before you have application of the double standard elsewhere. Oh, and don't expect him to like it! Fact or truth never goes down well with the party that is wrong.
Once again, really glad FDH
Once again, really glad FDH had sons.
Call your insurance carrier.
Call your insurance carrier. Many policies cover drivers who borrow the covered vehicle especially close relatives as long as its on a occasional basis. If so make sure that your son needs to borrow your best vehicle and make it a weekend.
Report newer car with A/C as
Report newer car with A/C as stolen bwa ha ha ha!
Yeah, I know the repercussions would be astounding. Yep! When SD was over (and YSS) they were treated as mini wives and I was the scullery maid.
In fact twice I have been driving vehicles with brake problems (i.e. NO brakes) and Chef was like "yawn"
If it had been any of his biological extrusions, it would have been a different story entirely.
I am SO SORRY that all three of my skids PASed out /s
Thanks, everyone, but ...
Thanks, everyone, but ... that's not all...
He asked my opinion and showed me on facebook how she "was so nicely asking to borrow the older car"... he wimp o' pussy footed it out of his mouth, then asked about upgrading to our best car. I already knew my opinion was only valid if I agreed with him, so I pointed out the issue with him not letting mine drive a car due to insurance. My son had his own policy so what everrrrrr... after reminding DH of this, he turned it all around and told me it was my idea. Guess his memory doesn't go back two years??? Then he got his shorts in a knot and said "OK! I will rent her a car."
You know this will make me look like the evil step mom.
Other problem I am having, when I was her age I was self supporting and she seems to need a lot of handouts. She was Valdictorian AND has a college degree. I was average and had a waitressing job...and no AC in car. So sick of the people that hang around holding the tin cup out, waiting for a hand out.
Your DH did you a favor.
Your DH did you a favor. Now, next time your son needs ANYTHING, he can not object. The double standard is frustrating at times: the way our DHs cater to Skids when they wouldn't do the same for us. For years I went through what you have, not anymore. If DH did that today I would raise hell with him. Sometimes we have to just risk an argument to establish boundaries and expectations from DH that the marriage is top priority.
You are right. I am not good
You are right. I am not good at confrontation but I am working on that. I miss my son to death but I am so glad he no longer lives in this zoo anymore. It has become one of life's big disappointments. I will definitely keep DH's little stunt in my arsenal for later use against him, in true female fashion!
its sickening that sd has a
its sickening that sd has a real husband the one that is her father.
