There is a new show coming out about a stepmom living life with three step kids from two former wives,... Its called Trophy Wife,...

I'm going to watch the first episode out of curiosity,... But I feel the same, that they will perpetuate stereotypes,...

I doubt that this show will address any real relevant issues that face blended families. Trying to balance a intimate relationship with a spouse then meet the needs of a family with no biological ties to you without them feeling excluded or chastised is a feat that will never really be accurately depicted on any soap opera.

LOL...Maybe we could make a show called "desperate stepmoms"??? Lets show them the reality of it and not the cliché part of it like trophy wife? I did watch the preview of it and did laugh but yeah I agree, if this goes mainstream we are fucked.

agree one hundred percent. it is bad enough dealing with sm stereotypes in fairy tales. it will give everyone an excuse to abuse sms.

I haven't heard of this show, but sometimes (only in adult company, never within earshot of SKs) I refer to myself as my DH's trophy wife. As in, he deserves a trophy for putting up with his hag of a first wife.

I'm not a big fan of Malin Akerman. IMO she's "okay" as an actress but there is nothing about her that stands out.

As for the whole show's premise. *shrug*. No comment.

But my eyes popped out of sockets when I read this line:

Based on the trailer - not to mention the title - she's at the center of this series, which will hopefully benefit from airing in the hour that follows Joss Whedon's new series.

WHAT THE!?!?? A NEW JOSS WHEDON SERIES!!!???? OHBOY!OHBOY!OHBOY! Must find out more!

There's actually one on Nickelodeon i think, called Instant Mom, that has promise. It's a kids show, but still seems to give the message that stepmom's rules are important, she's part of the family too, and yep, that stepparents screw up as well as stepkids. Then all is forgiven in 30 minutes Smile
