I WAS excited for the weekend to see the girls
This weekend will be our last trip down to visit the skids in San Antonio before they move back home for good.
And again, it will be cloudy/raining all weekend. Seems like every single time we go, the weather is crap. Not such a big deal except that we have to find stuff to do; otherwise we sit around the hotel room all day. Hotel has a pool, but it's outside.
It's just beyond frustrating to spend all this money (of which BM reimburses a FRACTION of) to get down there and we're limited to indoor-only activities. Not sure how many of you have been to or live in San Antonio, but there's a TON of fun stuff to do outdoors.
As long as the kids have fun and get to spend time with DH, that's all that matters. But it's still irritating. I'll be very glad when they're local again and we can reclaim our real vacations.
Well, look at the bright side
Well, look at the bright side - this is the LAST weekend trip you'll have to take.
No kidding! I will be SOOOO
No kidding! I will be SOOOO happy when these trips are over. They're very stressful (probably all in my head, but I still feel exhausted by the end of the weekend).
No offense to the city, but if I never see San Antonio again after this weekend, I won't be upset
Exhausted because we fly out
Exhausted because we fly out after work on Thursdays (today) and then back first thing Monday morning.
So I'll leave work at 3pm today, catch a flight at 5pm. Pick up skids by 9pm.
Drop skids off Sunday night by 7pm. Catch 6am flight Monday morning and drive straight to work from the airport (small detour to drop DH off at home).
Dead on my feet by lunchtime Monday! But like you said, this is the last one!
YAY for the last one!!!!!
YAY for the last one!!!!! That certainly sounds exhausting indeed.
aww don't worry about
aww don't worry about that..have fun enjoy your skids!!!
Fiesta Celebration will be
Fiesta Celebration will be going on all weekend downtown. Take the kids to those activites. I don't see rain more than a 30% possiblity this weekend with "chance" of a storm (I will be surprised it if actually rains) and highs in the upper 70's. Tomorrow's high is 84.
Ya know, before visiting San
Ya know, before visiting San Antonio, I didn't give much thought to anything less than a 40% chance .. but everytime we've gone, we get rain!
We'll find stuff to do, I'm sure. We were planning to find the carnival downtown for a few hours at least. Hopefully if it does rain, it's a quick shower and moves past quickly
It would just be nice .. for once .. to not have to think twice about the weather
Usually weather is not a
Usually weather is not a problem here, but we are cool again today. I love it because we have a track meet later this afternoon and it sure beats sweating to death in the sweltering sun. Tomorrow will be warmer and HUMID. It will be crowded down town but fun. I am sure you will enjoy the visit. Go to the Alamo, or the Witte Children's museum.
Its been years since I've
Its been years since I've been to San Antonio, but they had some great art museums there, too. I took many field trips there when I was in high school.
Yeah, they do have plenty to
Yeah, they do have plenty to do. Skids are 5 and 7 (as of a week ago), so we have to make sure we stick to children's museums or museums with kid attractions.
These kids LOVE water parks and pools, so hopefully it will be warm enough for that too
Gotcha. Have you been to Sea
Gotcha. Have you been to Sea World, Fiesta Texas, or Schlitterbahn? They'd probably enjoy those places, though they can be pricey. There's always the outlet malls in nearby San Marcos. Not necessarily something skids would enjoy but I bet SM would have a blast!
