Enlistment Bonus part of CS Calc?

SMof2Girls's picture

If BM gets a re-enlistment bonus (let's say $10K); but it's only every 6 years or so, would that money be counted towards income for CS purposes?

I would imagine if it was they'd break it over the period .. $10K/6 years is about $1,666 extra per year. Or would it be $10K in the year it's paid, and then revisit CS the following year?

Jut curious. We know she hid it, just not sure if it matters. Purely just hypothetical $$'s and thinking right now (not pursuing anything legally - just curious).

Which is not what we want .. probably not pursuing anything with this (anytime soon anyway) .. was just thinking about the what-ifs?

It would be split over the six years. Military bonuses aren't like civilian as they are usually guaranteed unless you get discharged.

I don't believe her rank changed. She just finished C-school around June of last year.

We don't really have many details, we just know that she re-enlisted and that she was eligible for the bonus.

should be counted as income.

but if your state is like mine, it wont change much.

we ran the calculator with BM's income at what she makes now (12K per year) vs. if she actually worked FT like the rest of us ($45K or so based on her hourly rate). CS only went down by $10 per week!!!!!
