OT
I am so tired of actually trying to look good during this heat wave. I can spend 45 minutes to look spectacular for work, and then by the time I walk to my car in the morning, I look like a drowned rat. Flat hair, make up dripping or just sweated off completely.
Then at the end of the day, I get to go from my freezing office to my car that has sat and baked for the last 9 hours in 105 degrees. Of course the inside of the car is hotter than the face of the sun. I have to run the AC on the steering wheel for a few minutes, just to be able to touch it. One good thing that has come of this is that I don’t smoke nearly as much as I used to. We don’t smoke in the house and it is just to darn hot to go outside for the time it takes to smoke a cig.
I wanted to throw up when I opened my electric bill! It has been so hot here and we are in a serious drought. This is the one time of year that I don’t like living in Houston. GAH!! $475.00 bill. Really people? How can it be that high? No one is home much during the day. I just don’t understand how some of the poor people here do it. You HAVE to have AC here. How can some of them afford a bill like that? We make good money and I can pay it, but it just chaps my booty to have to pay that much. Grrrr.
What is the highest bill you have had? Ok, rant over.

Oh God, 475$ I was sick to my stomach last month when it was 275$ I can't even imagine.
I'm with you. The humidity
I'm with you. The humidity KILLS my hair within minutes of stepping foot out the door. It zaps every bit of energy out of me. The AC in the Jeep doesn't work, so we've been all summer without. The heat is enough to make me ill.
As for the electric bill, the house we're in doesn't have central air. We have one window unit that has run non-stop for the summer. I guess the suffering may be worth it as our highest electric bill this summer was $239. I can sweat easier than I can come up with $475.
San Antonio is that hot as
San Antonio is that hot as well - my last bill was $285 - and I'll pay it but yep it totally ticks me off. You can't really set the temp for higher during the day because then it kills the AC at night when you get home. Thankfully at work, if I get here early enough, I can park under the building so it's not incredible hot inside the car at the end of the day but I did give up on trying to look good for work. Hair goes straight into a ponytail - no attempt even made to fix it and makeup is bare bare minimum -
Keeping my fingers crossed we get some rain or a break soon!
