SERIOUSELY..A RECORDING DEVICE????? OH YES...SHE WENT THERE!!!
Sooooo..my 14 y/o special needs step son came home from the weekend visit to his moms. I did not even know that he was home except that our 3 bio kids (9, 8, and 6) said that he was home. We were in the kitchen making dinner together at the time. I sent one of the boys, after a while to get him to set the table. My 8 y/o went in and said..."Mom wants you to set the table" ..All I heard back is..She's not my mom!!! WTH...I have raised this boy for almost 11 years....ELEVEN his 14 years!! I always expect attitude, but will NEVER allow disrespect!! I had him come in and set the table....we had dinner and the evening went on fine....THEN...It was nearing time to get ready for bed and I happended upon a Blackberry device that he was using to record our conversations!@!! YEP>>>>>BIO MOM SENT HIM HOME WITH INSTRUCTIONS TO RECORD IT WHEN WE ARE HAVING ISSUES..seriousely..what parent and 14 y/o DO NOT have issues!!! ITS HARD ENOUGH WITHOUT THINKING THAT YOU MIGH BE BEING RECORDED IS THAT EVEN LEGAL????? IM DDDDOOONNNEEE!!!

I was thinking the same thing! It is ok to record BM but when the tables are turned on the SM it is no longer ok? What a group of hypocrites. If you are doing nothing wrong then who cares if he is recording? This just makes you look guilty as hell!

Not that the SM is supposed to use their spy and ninja skills to slip a recording device into BM's house so she can get the scoop on how BM lives.

I think the whole idea of BMs and SMs recording each other and SKs is just wrong.
I'm sure the women on both sides of the coin view it as a way to protect herself/children against the evil ways of the other, gather evidence to use in court and/or to get dad to see/hear the truth about the evil BM/SM/SKs.
Really, the problem started
Really, the problem started when you were nice enough to take over parenting for someone else. Sorry, unless the BM is DEAD I would have NEVER agreed to take care of someone else's kid. If your DH is working, too bad. Not your problem. Then maybe he needs to realize that he doesn't have time to have his son live with him. If not, he can send him to a daycare while he is away. Sorry, but I don't agree with either side on this. I would FLIP if a BM did that. At the same time, we get ourselves in these situations by being way too nice with our DH and HIS responsibilities. When my DH wanted me to take care of his kid for him to work on weekends I made sure to put a stop to it. I let him know that if he was not with me, he'd either have to find a sitter or not have his kid...simple as that. I think you need to have a talk with your DH and things need to be re-worked here. This is NOT going to stop unless YOU put a stop to it.
