my thoughts exactly. how many other ways can people demonstrate that they did NOT want to be under that roof anyway.....

I'm a COD too and I agree with LadyFace interpretation of the letter!

Treating my SM with RESPECT is a must!
She is a wonderful lady (who never had children of her own) and conflicts ONLY arise when she is strongly opinionated.
BUT
If you listen to her strong opinion and take a moment (don't speak!) and think about what she said, it maybe STRONG or HARSH, BUT ONLY! because she is trying to do what is best for you, for Dad and for the whole family!

I'm sure she locked up his "pot" and "bong" that was his primary souce of both income and entertainment. lol

It's interesting to me how the "kid" is inferring the SM is causing the alienation. Anyone else pick up on that?
