Letty's funeral

No plans announced just yet, but last night when I got home from work, I went up to DH's office and said, "you know, I think it might be good for you to go to the funeral with the skids.  There is NO WAY that the Beast will approach them if they are sitting next to you."

He said he agreed and also said that while it wasn't appropriate for him to go see Letty in hospice, it is completely appropriate that he attend the funeral to support his kids and his former sisters-in-law.  I told him I was glad to see that we were on the same page.

About 20 minutes later, he got a text from BabyVoice, asking if he would go with her to the funeral.  

Of course he will, kiddo, of course he will.   I, on the other hand, will not be attending :-)

So sorry for the loss, but it's nice to see everybody working together for the kids and to ensure BM doen'st get her hooks in them when they are grieveing.

you know, it is interesting to me to sit back and watch the relative "normalcy" that the Beast is related to.  With the exception of BeastDad, everyone is really nice and super normal.  The fact that 99% of them have nothing to do with the Beast only reinforces the fact that she is, and has always been, the problem.

Of course, there is no way to guarantee that she won't try to pull something, but I really do believe that she won't approach the skids with DH there.  I guess we shall see...

I think it's great that he is willing to go support his kids in this. Hopefully he will be able to keep the beast at bay!

Good plan to have him go and even better planning to have suggested it before BV's text arrived.  This way he was all primed and ready to say yes straight away.

This is proof positive what happens when kids are removed from toxicity and raised in normalcy. No surprise they want to do whatever possible to minimize contact with or avoid the toxic.

Yo, Dahlink,

Not ready to don the oak overcoat just yet altho' damned near freezing to death out here in The Great White North; it's minus 12F at the moment and DH (who just sprinted in, gasping, after briefly feeding our wildlife) claims that it's minus 30F with the wind chill. Shok

So happy to hear that Baby Voice has matured into such a thoughful and empathetic young woman! But then, she was never much of a problem.... I'm convinced that your influence had much to do with yon good result since the Beast was such a detrimental influence (to say the least).
