Another Day at the Mill
Well, Dawn, especially, I know that you are going through a lot of what I have already done. These days I am here in GA, home alone with 3 dogs-albeit, one puppy with a broken leg which I certainly hope is on the mend because he is getting mighty heavy to carry around.
My husband took my suggestion and called my stepson Sunday afternoon and spoke with him awhile. But he (spouse) still seems to think that his ex's attitudes are spewing over into my stepson's relationship with my spouse. I am not really too sure if it is that or whether he just has too many things on his plate. He is the in AF just about 1 1/2 years now, playing soccer for AF team as a stryker with team traveling quite a bit, is stationed in Eglin AFB FL, but girlfriend has been attending art college in Savannah, GA for the last 2 years, and there has been the possibility of deployment looming over his head for quite a while, and it may very while become a reality. My husband isn't too concerned about the deployment as he seems to think that the AFB's as a whole are pretty much safe overseas, I think he is just trying to avoid issue. But I will cross that bridge if and when we get that far.
Haven't heard anything else from husband's flaky ex, but haven't been to PO box yet today.....my stepdaughter is more than several sandwiches short of a picnic basket. I keep trying to put it out of my mind. I still have all the decorating to do upstairs in the house left over from our move here in December but I didn't want any of the photos of her around as they just seem to trigger depressing thoughts for both of us so I have packed them up for the time being. Actually, this was better than my husband's alternative. He wanted to throw out anything that I had left remaining of hers but I had just packed it away to send back at her graduation next year. I had one savings account that had been left open that she had forgotten about which is the only reason any money is left in it. So, I just keep the statements coming to me until I can figure out what to do about it in a year or so. Same with the savings bonds I bought her. I did not send them back to her Mom as we are co-owners on them so I have kept them with me. Otherwise, there would be nothing left at all.
The weather here has been in the 50's and 60's but should be warming up for the weekend towards the 80's. I am looking forward to warmer weather. And also hoping that when we take Bullet, the puppy back to the vet's tomorrow for his follow up, maybe the vet will remove the staples, and possibly let him out of his splint? One could hope, dream, or wish. Otherwise, I expect it will be an extremely long office visit because they will have to knock him out to take off the whole splint and all taping, take out staples, retape everything, and replace splint, and put everything back together. Not fun at all!!! And then we live at least an hour from the vet's not including traffic! And Bullet gets car sick, too! I just really want to get him outside so he can get around to play a bit as I was hoping that would help burn off his energy. These days I think he is completely losing his noodle and is bored out of his skull having to stay put in one spot.
I haven't decided yet if I will go paint the remaining fence side today....I'll just wait to see what is in the PO Box today first. Hope everyone has a good day.
