So BS 10 is back home and we staycationing this week. Today is his first day home. We had things to do like hair cut for school and get his glasses adjusted and then we came home and watched Big Daddy. Omg I forgot how funny that was. We microwaved popcorn with milk duds and laughed our butts off.

What funny movies from the day have you shared with your kids?

Staycations are the best, aren't they?

I made BS watch Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Beetlejuice, and he really liked them both.

My parents took us to see Animal House when I was about 14 and my brother was 12. They had apparently seen a fairly US theater edited edition. We saw the unedited version in the Theater on Base... a bit more language and nudity than they remembered.

I remember Summer Rental and Uncle Buck. Overboard and Captain Ron are good too.

Life with Father is a 1947 Technicolor American comedy film. It tells the true story of Clarence Day, a stockbroker who wants to be master of his house, but finds his wife and his children ignoring him, until they start making demands for him to change his own life.

Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein.

Blazing Saddles is rated R and I saw it when I was 13. A friend's Mom went up to the box office and said it was ok for us to watch it, even though an adult was suppose to actually watch the movie with us. Why she thought it was a good movie for two 13 year old girls I have no idea. But we liked it and figured out it was mostly a satire that was against racism. (Ok, we probably didn't know the word satire, but we got the point.) I know I didn't get all of the jokes, and when I quoted some of the lines to my Mom she was pretty shocked. However she was cool and didn't make a big deal about it.

Have seen it several times since and always find something to laugh about or think about.
