I think it is truly sad. Mostly because she was safe with her dad and he finally trusted BM to do the right thing and now their daughter is dead.
I'm sure it will be a long time before he gets over that guilt. Though it isn't his fault. I just can't even begin to think what this woman was thinking when she decided to do this.

I just tried to figure out WTF she was thinking to allow this to happen to her daughter.
Whenever I see stuff like this on TV my imagination starts to get the best of me, because all I can think of is the fear that child must have felt in those final moments. The only consolation at this point is that now she is in a better place.

I can't believe that! I didn't hear anything about it. What the hell is wrong with people? That is horrible.

What makes this even worse, as if this story can get worse, is that she's currently pregnant! That makes me sick to my stomach. There are women who have tried unsuccessfully for years to conceive and this monster can just keep making more and more children.

I don't want her to get the death penalty, I hope someone ties her up by her filthy limbs and burns her cigarettes all over her body then pours salt on her wounds! Then let her hang there till she dies! the death penalty isn't harsh enough! Hope she burns in hell!!

There's a special place in hell for people like that. It's absolutely disgusting. I can't even imagine what that little girl went through.

She is in isolation in the prison, but they really should put her with the general population so that they can kill her sick ass.

This is my town. Murders are 8 times the national per capita average. This is the first time I've heard of something like this here in the last four years.

I was also a resident of NC for seven years ('94-2001) before I joined the military - NC sentenced a man to death during that time for killing a little girl in a horrific vehicle accident on the interstate. He had lost his license, had six DUIs, and was high and drunk. The state called it a deliberate act based on past incidents and possible outcomes. Unfortunately, the death penalty was overturned on a technicality.

Unfortunately, she'll probably end up in the state hospital for the criminally insane (Used to be Dorthea Dix, but I hear they closed it) and not on death row down the road.

I have to say...not to blame the Dad too...but I have been following this story and I just don't understand for the life of me why he would allow his precious daughter to go live in that trailer with seeping sewage, broken windows and general squalor with the BM.....They said that the little girl's blanket they found in the trash was covered with feces...now maybe he wasn't exercising visitation and had no idea the conditions she was living in...but if he gave the BM a second chance to be a Mom,,,wouldn't he check out where and with whom his child was going to be living with?...I dunno,,,just seems a little odd to me...in any event..I agree with the poster who said put this motherand that scumbag guy on the video in gen pop....they have a way of providing their own "justice" in situations like this....

A mother is not defined by the "b" or the "s" in front of her name, she is defined by how she handles the "mother" part.....

Reminds me of BM in my situation. She tried to sell SD10 back before my time. Thankfully somehow the authorities found out. BUT BM was never put in jail or anything for it since the "crime" never happened.
