Update - Skids' inappropriate clothing -

SteppingUp's picture

We picked up the skids yesterday and they were wearing shorts, t-shirts, and flip flops, and didn't have a zip-up or sweatshirt or anything else with them. DF was boiling (at least I could tell) and he made a comment to our daycare woman, saying, "Oh, is this all they came in today?" She said, "Yes, I don't know what BM is thinking. They need to be dressed in warmer clothes. The kids wanted to go to the park this morning but it was only 47 degrees so we couldn't go because I didn't have anything for SD and SS to wear. If you would bring us some clothes in a separate bag I'll make sure to keep them here for the kids and not send them back with BM."

Hooray! Day care is on our side. Smile

We have had that trouble as well. She has sent them in clothes that were so tight we could hardly get them off. When we confront her she just says, "thats what they wanted to wear". Come on! At 6 and 10???? I dont think they should be dressing themselves!

I'm glad the daycare is on your side Smile we went through some similar battles when BM had custody and ended up bringing appropriate clothes to the kids' school. It's really sad that there are children out there who are used as pawns by their "parents." You should definitely document this!

Oh it IS being documented. We've got pages full so far...it's just so nice to know that we got our first hint that day care is on our side. Makes us realize we aren't just being overly critical or protective.

that's really sad. our BM keeps the clothing we buy for the kids and sends them to us in rags, but at least they are warm rags.

Ask the daycare to keep documentation of all this as well. If you ever go to court, it will be beneficial to have someone unbiased giving them this info too.
