Funny - BM needed to "borrow" an egg.
I don't know if the egg recall is affecting everyone else, but it is for us. Fortunately, we had stocked up on eggs before the recall and still had some left to use for the weekend. Last night when my fiance called BM to see when she wanted the kids dropped off, she asked him if we had an egg to spare. She had planned to make brownies and there were no eggs at the grocery store because of the recall.
DF being nice, looked in the fridge and saw that we had two eggs left. Instead of bringing her one fragile egg, he decided to give her both eggs so it could stay in the carton and be safe. I was at Target while this was all going on, so I had no idea that he had given her the eggs.
After I got home, I suddenly remembered that I had bought chocolate chip cookie mix and that we'd forgotten to make them while we had the kids over the weekend. I thought about waiting until the next time we have them (Wednesday) but by then my pregnancy craving had set in and I HAD to make them. I went to the cupboard and checked the ingredients needed. The mix called for one egg. Lo and behold, there were no eggs in the fridge even though I KNEW we had some. By then I was craving cookies so badly that I started cleaning out the entire refrigerator, in search of the elusive egg. DF walked in, asking me what I was doing. Apparently I looked a bit frazzled. He just looked at me with big puppy dog eyes, then started laughing, gave me a huge hug and said he was so sorry and patted me on the back like I was a little kid. He finally explained it to me and I realized he thought I would start to cry about it (which is possible, I was having a rather emotional rollercoaster kind of day for no reason). We both busted out laughing at the predicament and how frantic I was to find the egg.
Poor DF was trying to do something to extend an olive branch to BM and it backfired in his own household!

At least he seemed sensitive
At least he seemed sensitive about it and it was able to lighten the mood! I had a total meltdown once because I couldn't find my comb in my purse, and I didn't even have a pregnancy to blame it on!
P.S. My supermarkets are all still FULL of eggs.
