Let me recall:

1. DH is supposed to have 4 weeks with the kids during summer.

2. BM said the kids don't want to spend any weeks with us this summer, we will continue to get them EVERY weekend and that is more than enough.

3. The kids told DH for themselves they don't want to spend any weeks here especially because they have no friends or cousins nearby and they don't really want to spend time with me when DH is at work.

4. DH said ok, cool, it's your decision. He's of the firm belief that when they look back later on in life they will realize that they made some bad choices.

But yesterday, lo and behold, BM wants to know if we still want them for a week.

All you smart men and women here can probably guess why.

If we keep them, she's arranging to go visit her boyfriend out-of-state.

Of course we're keeping them!

It's a little hard on the ego, this feeling of being used by BM and the kids only when it's convenient to her, but we are definitely glad to have the kids. They need more time with us to have a more realistic idea of what life here is like.
