I need to explain when the right time to talk about having a baby is to SO
This may be TMI but I really don't get this. BF and I have been talking off and on for months about wanting a baby and when is the right time to have one. He just turned 30 this year and I will be 28, but we don't want to wait too long and be too old to enjoy raising our child for the next 18+ years. He said that I needed a ring on my finger first - which I got last weekend.
Since telling people about the engagement friends and family keep asking us for a date. The issues is do we want a baby now of later. If we have the baby first the wedding would get pushed back, if we do the wedding first it would get pushed forward. Personally I don't care which comes first, I know that I want both eventually.
The issues is when I want to talk about it, FDH just tells me whatever I want or giggles at me. But in 'bed' lately - THAT'S when he asks me what I want HIM to do. To put something on or not before we fool around. This has happened like 3 times since he proposed. I think he really wants a baby but why can't he say that when I talk to him outside of the bedroom?
I know that I love him and that we will always have issues with BM and the sKids. But I can't see myself without him any more. I told him right after he asked me to marry him, that he better be sure because this is forever, I don't like the idea of divorce (i know in some cases it can't be avoided).
Planning to talk to him tonight after the Skids go to bed about what he wants. I just thought that was a really BAD time for him to ask me what I want and needed to share

Men are so dumb. I was
Men are so dumb. I was actually wondering if you were planning for a baby now that you are engaged. It certainly sounds like he wants one or else he wouldn't be giving you the option. For men, I think regarding babies they really do want whatever we want. We, as women, though want the man to say "We should have lots and lots of babies together!" I think a man's lack of reluctance in this area could be taken as an affirmation considering he has acknowledged he wants to marry you. Good luck!
