As many of you know from my last blog I had a major issue with SO continually undermining me.  I know it seemed like I was just upset about SD drinking a coke and manipulating SO into buying her more soda for her "sore throat" but I was more upset about the fact that I don't feel like SO backs me up and act like a partner/parent instead of giving into SD's manipulative ways.  

Well we have been basically discussing and/or arguing about this whole issue since Monday.  SO acts as if he gets it but he has said he understood before and then went right back to his old ways.  I told him I can't do this anymore.  It is like a house divided b/c of SD and her special treatment (from him) and because he hasn't been a good partner/parent and I won't continue living like this.  

Surprisingly SO seemed to have a major break through.  He actually told me that he was extremely annoyed with SD's behavior last night (our night to have her).  He said it made him uncomfortable how she kept trying to sit on his lap and how she was trying to kiss him more like a gf than a daughter (SD just turned 11).  Finally, he noticed her mini wife BS!  The same BS I have been trying to point out but he always just got defensive over.  He said he thinks she is confused....ummmmmm....ya think!  I agreed and told him I believe she is confused b/c BM has been poisoning SD's mind since day one b/c she is so threatened by our relationship and has made SD feel like it is a competition between SD and me and the boys.  I told him that he has done nothing but contribute to that situation as well by not addressing the issues earlier on.  I told him that him and BM give SD to much power when they make everything about her and act as if the world revolves around her.  I told him she has been trying to act like the woman of the house since we started dating and needs to realize that she is a child and not an adult.  I advised that he read stepmonster and see things from my perspective and even SD's perspective.  I hope he does.  I was just shocked that he finally admitted that she annoys him that much as well.  Now, I just hope he actually does something about it!  Fingers crossed!
