It's alive!!!!
Got a call from the kid on Friday and then again today.
The good news. SS-26 has finally completed his ASCS and has applied for a university to complete his BSCS. As it stands it looks like he is on his dad's 11yr undergrad schedule. Hey, no one said I was the best example of focus in the accademia world.br
He tests for E-6 either April 1 or May 1. I can't remember which. It was quick conversaton and focused on the summary of his life for the past 6wks.
He moved from a 4br house 40mins from base to a 2br townhouse 5mins from base. A much better place for him to spend the next 18mos of his Germany assignment.
His dental reconstruction adventure is done. He now has his permanent tooth implant. Note: When your kids are learning to ride their bikes and you have concrete curbs in your neighborhood make sure they wear mouth guards as well as helmets. Eating curbs with their two front teeth half grown in lands decades of dental problems.
He called again today. He spent the weekend in the hospital with swollen lymph nodes in his groin. He is on a couple of very strong antibiotics. Thankfully the Doc is confident it is not Lymphoma and is leaning towards a Dx of a bacterial infection though the test results are not due back until Thursday.
Now for the scary part... though the Doc is leaning towards a bacterial infection the symptoms are also indicative of either Herpes or HIV.. as well as Clamydia. We reviewed the "Wrap it before you tap it" and "No glove no love" mantra discussion. We had some laughs with the very direct and serious discussion.
So, good stuff, some scary stuff and mom and dad are now nauseaus and on pins and needles until Thursday when the tests results are due back.
Kids! Love them to death unless they end up checking out early due to youthful indescretions.
Fingers crossed for good news on Thursday.

Fingers very crossed for good news. Keep us posted!
Thanks.
Thanks.
And on top of that.... my company is going through a Sr. Exec and Sr. Mgt blood bath re-org. Off to find another opportunity.
Ughhhhh.
So sorry Rags
so sorry to hear about your BS....I will for sure keep him in my thoughts and prayers. You have been an amazing rolemodel for your BS.
My BS was just promoted to Cpl. Seems he has really been stepping up at his job and taking in more responsibility. He leaves next week for three months of training. It will do him good. He needs a break from the daily grind. He is about to re enlist this fall.
Please
keep us posted on how your BS is doing. I’m sure it is just a random infection what will resolve itself. I had a similar issue and it was due to a cyst under the skin. Fingers crossed.
Buckle up, its going to be a wiild ride
Sorry this is happening - its either nothing or everything all at once it seems. I send prayers for health and opportunities your way!
