The Other Side of the Step Coin (StepDaughters And Grand Children and Can I Just Stay HOME)

I usually post about my SS14 who lives with me full time.
Well, DH also has three daughters. One is a independant woman who is out on her own and is doing very well. She has a cursory relationship with her father; because of PAS from her mother; yadda yadda yadda. But they are trying to develop an adult relationship. I consider it healthy and working for them.

The other two (different BM) have touch and go relationships with DH. LOTS of PAS from BM. She loved to fill their heads with horrible stories about DH and how he didn't love them, would rather have a son, etc, etc. It doesn't help that we live in Louisiana and they live in Nebraska.

Anyway. SD22 has a 2 year old baby girl. She is a single mother.
SD18 is pregnant with a boy and is about to pop any day. She is single and still in high school. She is in a relationship with the father who is in a "boys town" type of situation right now.

So, I was discussing income tax refund money with DH this morning. We have many car repairs that need to be done. We have school to pay for for SS14 (private school for autistic kids is NOT cheap) and I really wanted to start investing in MY bookkeeping business which will eventually turn into my Accounting firm when I graduate. Starting with software right now. I already have a couple clients lined up.

What does DH hit me with....He wants to go up north for SD18's high school graduation, and to see the baby. Sigh. Great. $1000 to take a trip up north in a cramped hotel room and hang out with people who REALLY don't want me around.

This stuff doesn't rear its head often...but when it does.....

Oh, How I wish he could go on his own. Hubby is autistic with MS. He kinda needs me there to help in case things get hairy scary. WHICH SUCKS.

I can understand him wanting to go see his daughter and the baby, however, he also has to be realistic about the cost (and not just financial).

Um is he aware that if SD is about to pop any day, that she just may NOT graduate? I run the tutoring program in the school district that I work for and I can't tell you how many teenage moms have a baby and don't do the tutoring to keep up with their school work while out, and then who don't return to school when their maternity "leave" is up.

How well does your DH even know this SD? Does he see her grades? The fact that the baby daddy is a JD makes me question IF she'll graduate even more.

Those are all questions that I posed to DH this morning. SD18 claims she will graduate with no problems. But I know her. I'm not so sure. I have a feeling she will quit and just go for the GED, if that.

Pecan - make DH sign a contract .... if you go and visit now... SD will never move in with you lol....

Ihave this gut feeling that DH will tell you in a couple off months time, SD is moving in with baby..
