so tired of being embarrassed by them....

We are all at the mall after work yesterday to do sd10s birthday pictures. After we did the pictures we went to the food court to eat while the pictures were being processed and ge ting ready for us to view them.

We sit down and dh hands the skids their food....huge plates of Chinese food. I take my plate and split it to share with bs1 and dh gets his plate and splits it with bs4. I am two bites into my food when I happen to glance over at the skids. They are eating like feral animals. Their mouths are level with the plate and they are furiously shoveling food in. Food is all over their faces, all over the table, all over the floor and all over their clothes. Chewing with their mouths open and making these snarffing sounds. I very calmly say (since opening my mouth about the skids is a dangerous moment around dh) "Guys, no one is going to take the food from you" Dh looks at me like I am not picking and asks what the problem is now. I said look at them, they are shoveling the food in like they are starving refugees. There's no need to behave like that. He then looks at them as they are now frozen in place watching us. Ss11 has noodles stuck all over his face, his plate almost gone in the two minutes its been in front of him. Sd10 has food all over her good clothes from her pictures and she is trying to regurgitate a giant hunk of chicken that she tried swallowing without chewing.....like a dog does when they steal your food.

Dh stared at the for a solid 90 seconds in complete disbelief. These kids have absolutely no sense about them. Every time I am out in public with these kids it is completely embarrassing.

As we were leaving the picture place another mom commented how we have a lot of kids.....in my head all I could think was no, no I don't I only have two. I hate that people think those other two are mine Sad

wow peanut! see, i will only eat in front of OSS. i cant stand to be around the other two when they're eating, they eat just like your skids...
on the rare occasion that we do go out to eat, i pay real close attention to my plate and do a lot of people watching. at least i can't hear the smacking, and if i dont look then i cant see all the other poor manners!

i'm happy for u that your DH actually sees it. mine's completely oblivious... his own manners are fine, but he never tries to hold them to the same standards or teach them how to not be offensive. i think a lot of skids are just catered to, god forbid u try to actually TEACH them anything...

Sadly he only sees it when I point it out....and even then its hit or miss if he will side with them or me. Had I not said anything to them he would have been oblivious.
