SO is driving me crazy today.

He went to a concert last night and didn't get home until 2am so he decides to not go into work today. Ok cool.

So I told him that he can do dinner tonight. He hasn't cooked a meal in over two years. I figured I'd get a break.

Dumbass just text me "How do you cook spare ribs"

WHY would you take something out to cook that you can't cook? I wanted one day to get a pass. Now I'm going to have to go home and "show" him (do it myself really).

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

He text back...Just tell me. Broil or bake

I need a drink already and I've even seen the Skids yet.

Exactly, Tell dumb dumb to google it and he can find a youtube that will guide him through the whole process.

LOl My SO doesn't spice anything either. Last time he cooked breakfast I guess he didn't think to toss around the potatoes. Burnt on one side and not cooked through on the other side.

Or, if you want to tell him how to do it, ribs are really pretty easy.

Wrap them in heavy duty foil and put them in a 250 degree oven for 4 hours.

Unless he has to season them? In which case I might add "put BBQ sauce on them". Lol They won't be the BEST ribs in the world, but they'll be fine and you get your break!!

Also... how are you going to do it when you get home? Ribs have to cook for hours! :?

Why? Because your first instinct was Crap now I have to do it and he doesn't want to cook. This is very typical, If I play dumb then I won't have to because my wife will just do it for me. It's why they can never find anything (they didn't look), they don't know "how" to clean xyz or do a Terrible job, etc. it's manipulative shit.

LMAO! I can sympathize... Dh does stuff like this all the time. Thankfully he cooks but he'll text me to ask me to text someone else like his mom or something... I'm like "uhhhh why don't you just text her yourself...?" These guys... I swear.

The only way to cook ribs of any kind is to slow cook for at least 4 hours (depending on amount) on 250ish.

Funny he asked bake or broil. So he does not know 90% of oven cooking is on bake. Broil is for flash cooking, crisping the edges, skin, etc. I slow cook most everything.

Thank God my DH knows how to cook. And does most of it.

That was one of the things I stressed when we were dating, "Don't think I'm cooking you dinner every night."

"Thank God my DH knows how to cook. And does most of it." amen.

i love to cook (when i'm in the right mood for it!) so i do miss it. but he caters to the kids so i leave him to it. i'm not cooking three different meals at once, and we dont haven enough pots/pans/space for both of us to be cooking at the same time.
