summer vacation........
Do any of you leave skids home all summer vacation? We have week to week custody with BM who lives about 5 mins from our home. SD16 is excited about staying home all summer and just relaxing, her words, with no job. SO and I kinda had a little fight about it. He thinks she can stay home all summer because she did good in school which she did. She maintained a 3.0 all year way up from her 1.6 last year. So we are both proud of her.
Buuuuuuuttttt I don't trust her one bit and her being home alone all summer in my house is not going to happen. I want to compromise with SO but SD has a proven track record of lying and getting into my personal things. Like makeup, perfume, jewelry stuff like that. Things go missing and no one knows what happened. So I have reason to not feel comfortable about it. Plus SO will never address it with her. He says I must have lost it or misplaced it. Yeah right!!!!
I am standing my ground on this but SO is not happy with my "demand" and feels like this isn't her home if she can't stay home and veg out all summer long.
I see his point but if he doesn't hear my concerns about her invading my personal belongings then I don't give his much merit either. I want to work this out with him but not at the expense of my self or my things. I just wondered if anyone else had this issue to deal with.

Is it her home first or is it
Is it her home first or is it your home first? It someone stole something from me they would be lucky to set foot in my home again but to be left alone, oh hell to the NO.
If my SO didn't agree to make his stealing child work then I would totally put a plan in place to protect my stuff. Cameras, etc... I also might do it without telling him.
A trick I used to use on my little brother (he used to take my stuff form my room) is to tape a piece of hair to your door around the frame work and to the actual door. If the hair is broken then you know the door was opened, only works if SO doesn't come home in between you leaving and coming home.
