It's Driver's Ed time!!

BM just slays me. I'm laughing so hard over here.

As of yesterday, SD15 thought she starting Driver's Ed in school on Wednesday. Today, DH gets an email from BM. BM wants him to, a) pay for half of a commercial Driver's Ed program in her state because "SD15 is too busy with her other activities" or b) put SD15 in a commercial Driver's Ed program in our state - during Thanksgiving Week. Really?

I wrote a fantasy reply and sent it to DH:

So let me see if I've got this straight.

You want us to put SD15 in a Driver's Ed course during the week that she is with us for Thanksgiving.

Your state requires a 38-hour Driver's Ed course.

a) How in the world do you imagine she could fit 38 hours of driving into a holiday week?
b) There is nothing on the (BM's state) Office of Motor Vehicles site that indicates they will accept a school from a different state.

Do you ever use your brain to actually think? Or does it just take up space in your head?

As for paying for Driver's Ed and all of the other non-essential rites of passage - that is the obligation of the domiciliary parent, one we would happily take on if she lived with us. Since you are unwilling to even consider a temporary change of custody, this lands the obligation back on you. So no, we will not be contributing.

I mean, seriously. How dumb is she?

I think the difference in our case is that SD15 has a really good relationship with her dad and me. If there was PAS, it was half-assed, and BM's own actions (backstabbing gossip, liar, breaks promises) made her an unreliable source.

SD15 asked us on Friday how "Operation GetSD15TheHellOutOfThisState" was going. Sorry kiddo, the judges in your state are useless; we'll go through the motions, but you're going to have to suffer another 2 years and 8 months until you can escape.
