So SS9 knows about his mother's arrest. When he told me what he knew (mostly what he overhead when she was talking to her lawyer), it was like I was listening to her talk about it. His verbal tone was condescending towards her "current" job and the people she works for/with, and he sounded, to use an old term, impertinent or arrogant. Again, it was like I was hearing his mother talk about the whole thing. (FYI, she was arrested on what some might consider an "obscure" charge, she works in a VERY public domain, and basically, she pissed off some higher ups--has been since she's been there--and now it seems like they are just trying to ruin her image). She told SS9 that she is "quitting" because she's not going to let them do that about her (them being the department/superiors, that being suspend her from work and then arrest her over what she claims are "lies").

So anyway. Things have just been so weird since this all has happened (started almost 3 months ago, she was just arrested about 3 weeks ago). 2 weeks ago, she started going to our church again (she did a year or two ago, but then was going regularly at SO's church). I'm guessing she's doing that because her name is all over the papers and our church is quite big and she isn't well known there.

I just don't know what my place is. When SS9 was telling me everything (and he just out of the blue spilled it all out), I just kind of said, uh huh, yeah, oh goodness, that sounds terrible, I'm so sorry to hear that happened (to which his reply was the snotty kind of attitude, which I know comes from her).

I know for sure it is not my place, or even DH's, to tell him the bits and pieces of what we do know about the truth ( I really want to get a copy of the offense report, but they record whoever requests a copy of it...). I just want to scream at him, you're mother was arrested! people don't just get arrested if they did NOTHING wrong! And she flat out admitted to DH what she did and it flat out broke a stinking law!!!! Who cares WHY or your reasons, Darth Vader, YOU BROKE A LAW.

Ok, maybe I'm not so much confused as just AHHHHHH.

I guess in a way, I'm glad SS9 doesn't know the truth about his mom. That would suck to have that kind of a revelation about your mom, that she's dirt.

Anyway, she can't stick to the schedule, and so when I told him he was staying one more day with us this week, and he replied YES!!!!!, I said later, "I'm glad you get to stay today. I miss you a lot when you're gone and it just doesn't feel like home without you." To which he replied, "yeah, it never feels like home where I'm at." That concerned me, so I asked him what he meant. "When I'm at my mom's, you're not there. When I'm here, my mom's not here."

He does grow in my heart, even if there are lots of thorns.
