Saying Goodbye.

Today I had to say goodbye to the only woman who has ever been there for me. She had known me since I was 16 and since then I went to her for everything... I was her "daughter." 

Throughout my grieving process this week I've come to realize that life is just way to short. I'm not wasting anymore energy on things that don't deserve it.

This woman meant so much to me and is absolutely irreplaceable in my life and to honor her and can't keep down the path I'm going. 

She touched everyone that knew her and is a tragic loss to our world. 

With that being said.. Live your life everyone, don't wait around for others.. Or care what this one or that one thinks.. in the long run... it just doesn't matter. Enjoy the limited time we have here and live life to the fullest... we only have so long..

Sounds like such a neat lady - I am so sorry for your loss. (((HUGS)))

That said, love your message, which bears repeating:

Miss KO3, you always sound like a tough lady so I'm seeing a sensitive side of you here and I'm very sorry for your loss.  May your dear person be at rest and peace to you.

I'm so very sorry for your loss! Your post is a fine epitaph to your friend, particularly as her influence has had a positive effect on not just your past life but your attitude going forward. My life was also blessed by ‘Auntie’ Ray, who was childless and whose maternal instincts were channeled into her devotion, both material and emotional towards her ‘kids’. She paid for many educational expenses and was a shoulder for the angst of ‘her’ teenagers. The greatest thing about that fine woman was the example she set for those who loved her.

Your grief feels very raw and painful right now, MissK03, but in years to come, your friend’s goodness and the happiness that you experienced in her company will be what you remember. Again, so very sorry! Many virtual ((((HUGS))) are heading your way.

This happened to me in 2021. After that, I realised I should put myself first or no one will. I also quit caring about ppl who dont care about me. Thats a waste of time and energy. The steps and their parents are a thorn in my side and probably will forever be this way but i quit putting my energy into these ridiculous ppl and just became completely absent. Loss of relatives and ppl who marked our lives truly makes you re evaluate your priorities and where you are putting your energy

Her example, and yours, is sage advice.

Living our best life should be our daily commitment to ourselves and those we love.

That it is also the best revenge against those who who represent a threat to our best life, is a powerful bonus.
