FIL and his girlfriend come to our house for the night because he is being seen at a local hospitial for kidney testing. He is 300 plus pounds and not very stable on his feet. All night the GF was telling him how he needed to shower, to the point of annoyance.

I ask FIL if he wants to use my shower because there is a built in ledge and he could lean on it. He says no and he will be fine. I say jokingly "ok, but don't break any of my fixtures" - trying to instill the hint of don't lean on my towel rack. I'm down stairs feeding LO and all of a sudden I here a ting and 30 seconds later another one. I send dh up stairs to find out what happened. Dh comes back down and says I'm going to be mad but he can fix it.

FIL ripped the ceramic soap dish from my shower wall and the towel rack off the bathroom wall. Ugh! I'm upset because we just bought this house, everything is new. Now we have to repair it. I wish he would get it through his head of how heavy he is and how unstable he is - but he is very stubborn.
