Dh got a letter today from CPS. It stated that there wasn't enough evidence for the child abuse allegations against Bm towards ss (doggie shaming) and that ss was being put in the middle of a custody issue.
Duh! I could have predicted the outcome a long time ago. However, Bm will beleive she won and continue to doggie shame or whatever else falls in that category to ss.
The CPS worker suggested counseling for Bm and dh to attend together. I told dh that if he attended counseling with his ex wife, life would be hell with his current wife. He let me know he had no plans to do so. Bm will never change her ways, no matter who tells her, she is a sick person.

No food in the house. Literally none. Not even condiments.
Kids coming home with bruises the shape of a palm on face/buttock (she has pictures)
house in unsafe condition (a trailer, with a hole in the floor, that the kid fell through and broke three toes)
refusal to take kids to the doctor
Getting drunk while he had the kids and calling her and leaving slurred drunken messages.
CPS did Nothing... nothing at all. Could not prove any of it. (Despite the fact that the HOLE is still in his floor guess he covered it with a rug? dunno)
However, when she took him to court to try and take away unsupervised visits: The JUDGE did something.
CPS usually is there to investigate and remove kids from immediate threat of death/ imminent harm. Aka they are looking to see if what happened is severe enough to potentially kill the kid.. and if that is a real possibility then they will remove the kid.
If the abuse reported does not equate to a threat of harm/ death CPS closes the case as unfounded or refer it to a case manager to have the parents take parenting classes, get the kid therapy etc. However, if the same information is presented to a judge, the judges have a different standard of proof than CPS and can change custody etc on the same exact information.
