I know I'm immature but I'm still laughing.
Apparently BM called SD6's teacher today to discuss taking her out of school 4 days early this summer and the school had to call DH to find out if it was OK if they call her back.
It's terrible, pathetic, and sad that BM has had absolutely zero contact with the school all year so the staff has no idea who she is. But I still find it funny that nobody there calls DH to ask if they can talk to me.
Sometimes you have to find amusement wherever you can.
On a separate note SD has 2 girls in her class who are gluten free so I picked up a couple boxes of gluten free chocolate cake mix for the cupcakes for SD to take to school tomorrow. This is my first foray into the realm of gluten free baking and all I have to say is bbblllleeeeeeccccchhhhh. I mean they do not even smell appetizing. I hope this works out ok and the kids at least like them enough to eat them.

SD tried the cupcakes and
SD tried the cupcakes and declared them good. If she is happy with them, I am happy with them. They are her birthday treats after all.

You think sending birthday
You think sending birthday treats everyone in class can eat is ruining your child's birthday?
I truly have no response to that.
How does providing a similar
How does providing a similar treat for 2 kids with medical issues ruin your daughter's birthday???
Had you tried to pull that with my students, I would have pulled the plug on the party.
When BD10 was in 2nd grade
When BD10 was in 2nd grade there was a kid who was allergic to eggs and milk and another that we were told was allergic to fruit that had seeds in it(I thought all fruit had seeds in it but whatever). Her teacher would not allow any treats that all the kids couldn't eat which I get but trying to find something that did not contain any eggs, milk, or fruit with seeds in it (or the juice of such fruits) was, shall we say, a challenge.
My favorite was for the Christmas party we were instructed to bring juice but were told to bring fruit punch that isn't apple juice based because apples have seeds and the little boy couldn't have any. Yeah, good luck with that. It's all apple juice based.
In retrospect, baking gluten free cupcakes that all the kids could eat seemed like a very simple matter.
