Yup, I did it and it was awesome!
I took Gibby, BS 10, on a vacation. Without the skids. Just us, and my parents. And it was amazing!
Gibby had been saving money FOREVER to go to Legoland Discovery Center in Chicago. So for Christmas, Loghead and I told him we would pay the rest, and take him as soon as school got out. We all continued to save, because we knew the 6 hour train ride, and finding a hotel and all that "stuff" was expensive.
And then we lucked out! We found out a Legoland Discovery Center opened in Kansas City in late April- 3 hours from our house! Loghead couldn't get off work, and the skids had a family obligation with their bio-mom, so it was just the two of us. My parents decided to go along, and we made it all about Gibby. Legoland , Sealife Aquarium, Hallmark Visitors Center, Titanic exhibit, Science City, and the Harry S Truman Museum. Legos, Science and History. All of his favorite stuff. We went at his pace, and read every museum plaque, and talked about things; all the stuff the older skids would hate.
I must say, I will be doing that again! I'm thinking Hogwarts in Orlando?!?!?!

Sounds great! I have waited
Sounds great! I have waited years to take bios to DC because skids hate anything educational. DH and I are taking bios for fall break in November. Can't wait.
