Can't wait to watch her eat those words...
Princess, SD 20, told us yesterday that she thinks we have been horrible parents for making all the kids do chores, and that it's a "woman's job" to take care of the house and her family. She thinks kids should only have to keep their rooms clean and pick up their school books and things, and small messes they make.
Loghead and I just stared at each other in disbelief. I grabbed the family quote book and wrote it down. (We have family notebook where we right down funny things we want to be able to remember...) As I'm writing, she continues, "I've already told ##### that I will neer be like my mothers- oneis crazy and the other is a neatfreak!" (She was talking about this boy she likes...)
"Oh, yes, you've been so mistreated," Loghead said before he told her to get off her ass, and clean up where the bacon and eggs she had just finished making had splattered all over the counter tops.
I later told Loghead I hope she one day finds herself eating those words and I wanted to be there to see it. He said not to worry, because he'd be adding ketchup when the time came! "It's in the quote book. We won't let her forget," he said.

Yes, my skids have been doing their own laundry since 5th grade, and scrubbing toilets and counters LONG before that. But you know what, Gibby does it too. So I never asked the skids to do anything I haven't also had Gibby learn to do now that he is old enough. In fact, Gibby learned to do laundry at an even younger age due to a back injury I suffered recently. Less than 5 minutes ago, he came in and gathered up a pile of laundry to get started, "I'm bored," he said. I really love that kid! LOL

So at 20 she isn't a "woman"
So at 20 she isn't a "woman" yet? Seriously? When exactly does she see herself as not being a "kid" anymore?
At 20, she only wants to be
At 20, she only wants to be an adult when it is convenient for her. Otherwise, right now she sees herself as a kid home from college for the summer... I think Loghead and I have news for her!!!
Her summer job IS housekeeper. Due to an injury from a car accident last summer, she is about to have another surgery, and can't be on her foot for a summer job, but she can watch Gibby while I work a part time job, and she can keep the house clean...
Phew why is she still living
Phew why is she still living at home? I would be tempted to say, "if you don't like the way that we do things in our own house perhaps you should move out", any parent that asks them to do chores, teaches them, discipline, achievement and the ability to be able to take care of themselves, when I left home I could cook a full roast dinner to changing a plug, all down to my parents, when I was 20 I was a step Mum to 2 and had a full time job, sounds to me as though you and your partner have a great attitude.
