Another financial kick today...

Ugh. If I didn't feel so sick tonight, I'd go get me a daquiri! Ok, first off, many of you saw my vent earlier about the possibility of the skids on my insurance... Still contemplating what to do. I'm a custodial stepmom of 12 years, and I have always been a part of the skids medical care. Loca Grande does not pay CS because she is a crazy b%$*& that doesn't stay employed in one place for too long, because it would mess up her disability checks for her mental illness. However, it is in the court papers that she has all medical responsibility when the skids are in her care, and we have completed responsibility when they are in our care. She has no access to our insurance info if she took them to a doctor while in her care. Turns out it doesn't cost any difference if I have just one kid on my insurance or 20! So if I add Gibby, I might as well add the rest of them... But it will still be about $300 from my paycheck...

ANother $$$$ kick: I live 36 miles from the town where I teach. I have carpooled with another teacher for the last 2 1/2 years to save money. He and his wife decided to move to the town where we work. They found an apartment over the weekend, and will be moving in by the middle of May. This guy and I have become friends and I will miss the company to and from work. (And I do mean "friends"- I'm still pretty sure he's gay and his wife is a lesbian and it's a pretty "fake" marriage...) And he lets Gibby and I ride with him every day of the week for just $30 a month, and I pay for "road snacks." So, I'll also be out tons of gas money come next fall, and gas prices are rising.

That bites.

I know adding one child, or uping to family is the same price. $300 a month is a lot though.

Ah steperg, I agree 100% with you...by the way, not all insurances are the same...ours does cost for adding one child or adding a spouse...I know some are employee or employee plus spouse plus kids or employee plus family, but ours is employee, employee plus spouse, employee plus spouse and 1 kid, employee plus spouse and 2 kids, employee plus spouse and 3 kids or more...so adding DHs daughter costs us over 100USD a month...not to mention insurance is NOT tax free where we live...and she doesn't use it EVER! argh!

But no WAY IN HELL I would EVER put her on mine, even if I had some and DH didn't...not my problem.
