All is calm on the Homefront...
Princess and I spent the morning together, trying to play with different updos for prom. She was kinda cranky, and I warned her I'd smack with the hairbrush like I used to when she was little, and then I'd be done. I told her I wasn't putting up with any crap. She laughed and said, "You used to pretend you dropped the brush on my head."
I told her no one was THAT clumsy. We laughed about all the silly hairdos for dance recitals and how she used to whine and cry about tangles in her hair. She had forgotten the time she pitched such a fit that the brush tangled in her hair so bad we had to practically cut it all off.
It was nice. And we made a date for Friday night to do a pedicure, so her toes would be ready for prom.
Later in the day, Loghead thanked me for being a "mom" and for continuing to be nice and kind to Princess, even when she isn't nice to me. "THAT'S what moms do," he said.
