This weekend should be awesome and interesting
I'm gone all weekend out of town for a conference (I'm teaching a section so excited!) the college is paying for all of it (even more yay!) including the hotel! SO gets his kids for his week tomorrow. I made a switch with my ex and my ds will be also gone at his dads for the entire weekend, dd started a new job and going to hang at her dads as well. All SO has to do?
Parent his children all by himself for 3 whole days. He's known this for over 2 months. He is well aware the college is paying and supporting this. He's known since day one (even before I got the college to support me going) that he had his kids this weekend and therefore could NOT go with plus he'd do what the whole time I'm teaching or in lectures all day?
So today at 10pm he says "You should ask your dad to watch my kids so I can go." and he got 0 response mostly because I was thinking NO!
He was like "well nothing huh? that speaks volumes."
Me: "my parents are not taking your kids off your hands so you can do nothing but hang in a hotel room, it'll be good for you to have some time just you and your kids."
I left the room
I don't know if his thinking is due to having to take care of his kids all weekend alone no one even here but him, or if it's I'm going with my 2 male peers and one male professor. all my peers are just that hell ones the same age as my kid! and being in a male dominated field they treat me like one of the guys there is no weirdness there.
I think it's his kids. He didn't like the suggestion we get a hotel next weekend for a romantic time away without a conference his reason "I don't think we should just get a hotel for no reason" wtf!
I'm going and I'm shutting off my cell for most of the time I'm gone. He has the hotel #

I'm hoping I can network my way into a job! and I'm going to soak in the hot tub after swimming laps, drink wine and catch up on season 1 of Chicago fire lol. Or spend it keeping the young one out of trouble, the older but young one from ruining his career and then wanting to drink rather than babysit. One other guy is going he at least has agreed to be responsible for the underage one.
