SS5 miserable pouty weekend (vent)
my SS5's pouty miserable weekend.
I finally stopped dealing with SS and his behavior issues. I call FH EVERYtime he acts up now..eventually I hope he'll get sick of my calls and start actually disciplining SS when he gets home. I told FH I can't deal with his behavior..it's getting worse..he's testing me and becoming a real brat - a few people mentioned his freshness over the weekend.
Things he does that annoy me though are he will just stand there and stare at you..I tell him go play , he says he has nothing to play with. I tell him "SS I just got you tons of new toys to play with - go to your room and play" so he will go to his doorway and either stand there or sit on ground...soooo annoying. his bedroom is right off kitchen too so it's not like I can just "not see" him.
He begged and pleaded to go to park..so my BD and I took him park..he was fine for about 5 minutes than when both of us refused to push him (we've taught him how to push himself on swing now)...he started walking away, hands at side..all pouty..he than stubbed his toe on a piece of gravel and fell down to the ground CRYING dramatically...LOL..oh my god...I went over..checked it - it was fine..and told him go play..two minutes later he says he wants to go home..oh no! you wanted and whined all day to come here - your playing! so he continues to just do nothing..walk slowly around doing nothing with a pout..than on the walk home (a block away ) he kept stopping to check his toe!!!! He went home sat on his bedroom floor and started messing with his toe..I walked in and he looked like he was gonna cry.
THAN we are in a store..and he was looking at toys..my BD went to get him and he ran away from him and right into a customer..so she told him - wait til we get home..I'm telling mom and your going into time out - he said "no I'm not"..lol..
I told FH its sooo hard because here I am...raising this kid that is not mine..so I'm supposed to care for him, feed him, but I can't really treat him like my own because there are many times that if he were mine I'd just grab him up quick..but instead all we have are "time outs" after awhile that doesn't phase him.

yep Crayon!
I knew you'd understand first thing! It's weird..annoying and creepy when he does the just standing there thing..most kids just go play, they'll get bored with just standing there or sitting there..not this one..he would do it for hours.
Now he HAS started those weird noises too to get attention..wwaa wwaa..or just weird noises from nowhere.
it's so funny on Sunday am's too both kids are there and tehy will just stand in our bedroom door staring at FH. Than they start to creep into the room and as soon as they get a little in they think they are home free and will than both run to the bed just for FH to tell them "go play in your room". They do this every five minutes..it's kind of funny.
I always laugh out loud the way you describe droopy though " He threw himself off the sofa and almost crash landed into Bf's new laptop"
One good thing if SS did this to FH..FH would yell at him and send him to his room.
"He grew up in my heart, not my belly"
I do discipline
to the point of "time outs"...go to your room..come stand next to me when in the store...but he knows that is the limit that I can go to..
His mom is nowhere to be found, she abandoned him when he was 2..FH has full custody.
