Son of a Biscuit!

Last night we finally got the IEP from SS14's school that we had requested weeks ago. Couple of fun things:

1) BM's boyfriend is listed as DAD.

2) BM states that SS has been medically diagnosed with Dyslexia

  • Nope. She had him tested and he came back being fine. We have that report from 2015

3)BM states that SS has Elhors-Danlos

  • Nope again. We have those results too.

4) BM states that SS has POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) and needs a special diet and can pass out at school

  • Nope, talked to the cardiologist and the electrophysiologist that she drug SS to, both say he is fine and has no issues at all.

I emailed our lawyer. DH and I are at our witts end. We believe she is setting SS up to receive social security disability. This is all about getting money for SS. She keeps reporting these issues but no one is actually getting doctor's diagnosises. As long as she keeps changing his doctors and reporting things it will all become medical record. This is bullshit.

Send the school a copy of all the medical reports you have. As well as a copy of the CO. Then have DH remove BF as "dad" and add himself. I'd actually send all this through the attorney.

Unreal! I was just going to ask, did you send the results to the school? This deserves to not be left alone....

She's a real piece of work.

We are going to involve the school but not before court. I don't want records changed before hand.

Our BM is claiming SD14 and 2 of her other kids have Elhors-Danlos. It isnt true but she got it noted on her medical records. I dont know about your BM, but ours applied to SS for herself and all 3 kids. They were all rejected for benefits.

BM is living on disability now and SS's 1/2sister actually does have Elhors-Danlos and is on disability now too. SS let us in on that fun fact. So I know she is just seeing $$$$ on SS. Since alimony got cut she has to get her money somehow... and we all know she won't do something crazy like GET A JOB!

This crazy BM's are setting the skids up for problems down the road with health benefits.  All of this stuff will count as a "pre-existing condition" and not knowing what the future holds, could set them up for a ton of problems.  In this country right now, I'd be mad if my parents got me labled with a false ailment, thereby f'ing up my future.

Yep. He'll only be able to get life insurance through work, if that. God help him if he needs to get health insurance. Or finding a doctor; some won't take on patients with certain PECs because they don't have the expertise to provide care. SS could be saddled with only ever seeing a specialist, as well as boatloads of $$$ testing as he ages. Let's not forget that it could also impact his ability to get a license. Or work in certain fields (example: some nursing schools won't take students with high-risk medical conditions because they can't do the job and/or pose a risk to the university while in the program).

Considering this BM is trying to cut out a loving father and replace him with her current BF, I don't think she cares too much about her son's well-being in the future.

They need DR reports.  and then you have to go to there DRs for testing and reports.  I don’t think even the school will take a BM word on medical conditions unless there DR reports on the kid conditions.  There has to be a reason for a IEP at school. If teacher doesn’t think there anything wrong she will say something. The Elhors-Danlos would need a specialist DR to do that report not a Family DR.

They did take BM's word. There are no records stating he has anything. I literally have all of his records.

Elhors-Danlos does require a specialist. We took him to one. He doesn't have it. BM insists he does. You would think the IEP would need back up but nope. It says "Mother states student has..." then the plan to deal with all of his issues that don't exsist.

have and had an IEP and there is NOTHING wrong with them other than Munchausen Girhippo doctor shopping to find a smokescreen for her complete abdication of parenting from birth.

DH and I discussed this more after I got home last night. Another thing we didn't think about is the military factor. Most people at 18 can have records sealed. They can walk into a recruiters office and say that they are perfectly normal. As long as they pass the physical, they are good to go. SS14, however, is a dependent. That means that his records are already part of the military. Right now, there is nothing wrong with him according to his records. BUT if BM succeeds in this, that will also ruin his chances for a military carreer.

Hey Just, I sure hope that the lawyer can do something for you guys, this whole thing keeps getting crazier and crazier.

On the front page of the IEP what is stated as a disability? BM can say things and they can put them on IEP as comments/mother sharing. But actual disability has to be based on actual diagnosis either tested by school (learning disability) or documented doctors diagnosis. Ask to see MET/evaluations (whatever it’s called in your state). Ask to see his intitial IEP (not annual) with evaluations result and psych report attached with description of what was used to qualify him for IEP
