Words to a friend........
I have a friend at work who's wife is expecting their first child....he was commenting on how things were really changing. I told him that probably his biggest adjustment would be learning to be second. I told him that when you have a child with your SO you learn to be second.....when you marry someone who has a child with someone else....you learn to be LAST.

HAHAHa, I'm not in denial, DH shows me that I come first. He also says things to me like: "You are the most important thing in my life", "You are my everything to me", "You come first..." oh well... Let me brag a lil bit. LMAO

I agree steperg and wicked....I have seen it so many times...these older kids (and younger one's too) play their parents for all their worth...they work off the guilt and the love. There has to be some kind of accountability to these kids at some point...We can blame the parents up to a certain point and then there has got some accountability to these kids. When they are in their teens...they know the difference in right and wrong.
