SD ignores DH
SD just got back to our house today after being gone 8 days. When DH got home he expectantly looked downstairs expecting her to rush up and make a big scene like usual. She just walked past him without a word. No idea why. This is FAR from the first time shes done that, but still the majority of the time it's the fakey over the top Hi Daddeee in the baby voice when he gets home. I asked DH if he was offended she didnt say hi and he said no. Doubt it.
This is another thing I just find odd about SD. It's either over the top sucking up or complete rudeness and lack of interest in people. No normal, no in between. And there doesn't seem to be any obvious reason for when she goes one way or the other. It's just weird.

Kids can be moody for all
Kids can be moody for all sorts of reasons.. mom may have just given her an earful on the way in the door.. or she had a tiff with one of her BFF's.. or the boy she likes didn't sit near her at lunch.. or she is punishing daddeee for not buying her something she wanted.. or there is nothing she is currently angling for.. so the act isn't needed.
The last one is my usual
The last one is my usual assumption tbh. I've seen her do it to people when I've been around for all the preceding events and all I can figure is that shes not needing attention or whatever else at the moment so no need to turn it on.
I think she kind of just functions in a fundamentally different way then I do so none of it ever really makes sense and just seems strange to me. Probably one of the things that can make skids harder than bios - none of her personality traits came from me so I dont "get" her. And trying to think back when I was younger, I didn't ever do alot of the things she does so I cant relate in that way either.
