A face only a mother could love
Probably applies to personalities also. Those of you with skids you dislike, do you think ANYONE in your shoes could tolerate them?
The only case study I have for SD is BMs current whatever he is now. Fiance, bf, idk. I noticed with him it was very much the same as it was with DH and I. At first all of us did stuff together with both of our kids. Over time its faded to where it sounds like fiance doesn't want to do anything with BM and SD and they even do separate vacations. Last time they dropped her off even didnt even wave bye back to her. They also had decided not to set a date to get married supposedly because the kids dont get along. I'm imagining he feels much the same way I do.

Same here. BMs live in
Same here. BMs live in boyfriend won't do anything for skids or BM either. I have so many ridiculous stories of how he refuses to help them with anything so DH and I often have to pick up the slack.
Picking up the slack for BM
Picking up the slack for BM is why I'm so angry today. I'm done doing it and I'm done having it passed off onto me. BM likes to throw in DHs face how he should be thanking her for not getting an abortion when she didnt know whose kid it was and how " shes the one who decided to have her." Well, then maybe that can go both ways and she can take some of the extra responsibility also - like say when theres a pandemic and skid needs to be homeschooled and BM doesnt have to work and DH does.
I'm not sure
My skids (11 and 13) are the sweetest kids ever when you first meet them. They are so nice and polite and sweet. When I was dating their dad, they were okay, but they became less sweet and polite as time went by. Once their dad and I got engaged, it got worse and now that we are married, there are days when we barely say a word to each other.
So to answer your question: it depends on how long they are around my skids. Everyone else who doesn't live with them think they are such sweet and polite kids. We have gone out to dinner as a family and we have waiters complimenting us at how polite our kids are (I also have 2 biokids). But do you think my skids are that polite to me at home? Nope.
It's tough when it feels like I'm the only adult who sees them for how they really are (my biokids see it too).
That's pretty similar here.
That's pretty similar here. SD is either over the top ass kissing and attention seeking or the other extreme of snotty and nasty voice and too good to even look at the other person. So depending on which version they get of her first they occasionally will think shes great at first. I've seen family members who got the attention seeking side first be dumbfounded and not even know how to respond when they try talking to her another time and get the snotty side. And some people do see through the sucking up ot find the attention seeking annoying right away. She does the extreme back and forth with everyone to different degrees and I have no clue why and cant see much of a pattern. Other than kind of it seems like if shes gotten your attention before and you've confirmed her greatness shes bored with you. Or if someone else is getting attention she wants it.
It is tough when other people either can't sympathize with it or wont because they're kids.
Lol, I am positive nobody
Lol, I am positive nobody else would be able to put up with SD. All comments I've ever heard regarding SD have been about how loud, obnoxious, misbehaving, and disrespectful she is. People feel sorry for me thanks too stepbrat and Disney dad lol. Sucks
SS17 is a toddler in a teen's
SS17 is a toddler in a teen's body. He looks 17 but you have to watch him like he's 3. I don't think this will ever change because of his "high functioning" autism. High functioning compared to a potato? That, in itself, would be a challnge but then you have DH's fantastically abysmal parenting skills. Although, as a husband, just relating to myself, he's the sweetest most gentle giant you could imagine.
I suppose a lot of other women could handle this because DH is NOT an a-hole, unlike many other DH's on this site. Not even close. But LAWDY his parenting skills are something to behold. Yikes.
I used to think BMs BF of
I used to think BMs BF of 4years was such a jerk, because he wouldn't live with her and he is very uninvolved in SDs lives. Forward 2 years I completely understand him now. It's funny, but sad that just the other day my nephew and his girlfriend who are barely older than SKs need me to bring them somewhere and in a panicked voice asked if SKs were coming. They expressed thier relief when I said no. I dont deny my BS went through a phase were he was irritating and attention seeking. But he was also 7,8 and I put him in wrestling and let his peers and the coach put him in his place.
Not in my case. Not one
Not in my case. Not one member of my family can stand her, and only immediate relatives on my husband's side can tolerate her. She is well and truly the kind of child that given the choice, you would avoid.
nope
And to think I thought red-headed kids were cute
I think it is the pure lack of bone structure similar to step poop that all of my three skids suffer from. The girhippo has a plain appearance without makeup she would fade into the wall
As for chef he has nice features such as long eyelashes but he has no bone structure and very thin lips as well as slits for nostrils
All three skids got the worst of the genetic pools especially the boys. If that weren't bad enough all three are unbelievably huge sideways and vertically with no muscle tone whatsoever. Chef revealed to me that his mother called the girhippos family "giants."
