O/T - new job!
Besides all the regular step family and now pandemic crap, I've been dealing with a boss that knows everything. For reals. She's even corrected me when I told her about comments by another co-worker from a meeting she wasn't in and had no knowledge that it had happened (so she couldn't have found out otherwise). She also bleeds all over things if she thinks I'm the author, but leaves content alone if she thinks someone else wrote it (yes, I've done a few experiments to check if my gut was right). And I'm not the only one frustrated with her. But apparently I'm the only one willing to do anything about it. I've written a memo to file for HR and I told HR directly that if things don't change internally that I will have to make a change external to the company. (I know of one other person who quit specifically because of her--that person told me so-- and I'm pretty sure she got someone fired after they tried talking directly to her about her aggressive and demeaning style.)
And karma is real. I gave free advice occasionally over the past couple years to people at another company (I got connected with them through another colleague) and they contacted me out of the blue just as I was getting ready to look around and offered me a job! And they are about to do a bunch of stuff that I really want to do! And I can focus on just my area (been covering two additional jobs for years at the present place). And the side contract I have is going well, too, and the new company is willing to be flexible when I need to focus on helping the side contract (cause they know and respect each other).

This is amazing news!
This is amazing news! Congratulations and I hope you tell HR exactly why you are leaving in your exit interview.
Congrats! It's such a relief
Congrats! It's such a relief to get a new position when you are in a bad situation.
I also just started a new job (two weeks ago) at an awesome company! Very stable and interesting company, good to employees (great pay/benefits/PTO/ect), lots of charitable contributions (to me says a lot about culture, values and morals), does outreach programs to train and give people a leg up - just an all around great place!
Hopefully this will help show you that you deserve more than a crappy step situation too!!!
Congrats!
Your new gig sounds good!
I also have a point of comparison between my two places: my present small company has turned over the same number of people as we have staff (some of us have been around a long time and other positions have had multiple people) through firings and attrition. The new place is about the same age company and smaller but has only had one person leave who had to do so for family reasons. Says a lot.
Oh, and
It does give me more wiggle room for decisions related to step stuff.
Congratulations!!!
Congratulations!!!
