I know there are a lot of other issues in the article, but it's this one that struck me: the concern that kids won't eat it if it doesn't appeal to their spoiled palettes.

Seriously, it's a subsidized meal, and you're concerned that "kids won't eat it"? They will if they're hungry enough! If not, why are we paying for this again?

I find it amazing that there would be opposition to fight against improving the nutritional value of meals. Goes to show that money talks. Sigh.

I read recently that the school lunch program was started during WW2 to make sure children grew up strong enough to fight in the war. Something to think about Smile

I agree - how can "more vegetables, less junk" seriously be this difficult?
