Why don't men read directions?

I've been away for awhile, the department I'm helping in doesn't have much down time. Sad

Anyways so DH and I got into it last night over a freaking toddler bed! A.TODDLER.BED. All because DH didn't want to read the instructions. No, it wasn't that he just didn't want to read them, he flat out refused to look at them. I don't know if he was just in a bad mood or what but he was acting like a total idiot last night.

I read the instructions and identified all the parts. It took like 30 seconds; it was a racecar bed. He kept trying to use the frame bolts to put the wheels on. He finally got pissed off at me and left....3 hours after we started. I put it together by myself in 30 mins.

*sigh* I should have waited to go pick it up on a day when I was off work and he wasn't.

Why can't they read the instructions? Seriously.

My SO does this constantly when it comes to cooking, building..anything that requires directions. He is SO impatient and his mind is everywhere that he probably doesn't even think to read the damn things. It is very frustrating when SO decides to put together a dinner he has never made before, because I know he doesn't have a back up and he will eventually throw everything down and walk away pissed. Now I have a messy kitchen AND no dinner.
